Kathleen Hallisey "Kate" Rubins is a NASA astronaut. She became the 60th woman to fly in space when she launched on a Soyuz spacecraft to the International Space Station on July 6, 2016. She returned to Earth on October 30, 2016 aboard a Soyuz. She was a crew member of Expedition 48 and Expedition 49 of the International Space Station.

Soyuz MS-01 begins expedition 48 by carrying Roscosmos cosmonaut Anatoli Ivanishin, JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi, and NASA astronaut Kate Rubins to the International Space Station. After launching aboard the Soyuz spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, they will rendezvous to the station where they will remain for their 4 month stay.

After launching from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, they will rendezvous to the station where they will remain for their 6 month stay.
