India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C44) successfully injected Microsat-R and Kalamsat-V2 satellites into their designated orbits. Microsat-R is a remote sensing satellite . This launch will also test the use of the fourth stage (PS4) as an orbital platform for carrying out experiments. It will carry a student payload Kalamsat.
PSLV-DL variant has only two strapons boosters with 12 tonne propellant load on them. PSLV-C44 on 24 January 2019 was the first flight to use PSLV-DL variant of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle.
